Meet Kevin Harris

Kevin is excited to get back to working in the community, supporting Guernsey’s islanders with financial solutions once more. 

As part of the FTSE 250 Merchant bank Close Brothers PLC, Close Finance CI is a major player in the motor, personal and business finance market in the Channel Islands - both directly and through a network of brokers and motor dealers. As a finance provider, Close Finance CI differentiates itself from competitors with a personal approach, supporting their customers at every stage of their life journey, often lending to several generations of families in the Channel Islands. 

Kevin believes in involving the Close Finance team in all aspects of the business, so they understand the customer journey and provide an outstanding level of service to their clients. “For me it’s about offering a service as soon as the customer walks through the door, our aim is to facilitate the process, how we can structure the business to help customers’ needs.”

Kevin’s day-to-day role consists of ensuring Close Finance’s Guernsey operation runs smoothly with a personal mission to make sure every customer’s experience is a good one, he also works closely with intermediaries, managing relationships with brokers and motor dealers to bolster the Guernsey arm of Close Finance CI whilst sourcing new business opportunities. 

When not leading the Guernsey operation, Kevin is a keen motorcyclist from Harleys to Sportsters and can be found taking part in the annual Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. Having also presented the ‘Overcoming Adversity’ award at the Pride of Guernsey Awards this year, it is clear that Kevin cares about his community, “It was a really wonderful thing to be a part of, I am in awe of the stoicism of the nominees at the centre of our community, who deserve to be recognised.” 

Close Finance have operated in the Channel Islands for the last 50 years, meaning Kevin and his team understand the local lending market thoroughly, recognising the importance of quick decisions and a friendly personal service. Kevin is driven by the customers they help everyday, “Above all I am looking forward to being a part of the close-knit Guernsey community again, everything we do is underpinned by our clients’ needs.”
